Dramatherapy is a unique psychological therapy which uses a number of techniques to help clients work out issues that may be of concern to them. It enables people to explore complex and emotional issues in a safe and therapeutic way.
It often relies on an indirect approach which is particularly useful for those who may find it difficult to put into words exactly what they are feeling.
Dramatherapy offers another way of expressing feelings which can then be explored to effect a psychological change in social and emotional issues.
This form of therapy recognises that we are made up of both body and mind and as such it works holistically to include both aspects.
Storytelling, movement, role play, art, poetry, music and masks are examples of some of the art forms that may be used in dramatherapy. Each person is individual and the therapy is tailored to best meet the needs of each client.
There is no need to have any experience of drama or the theatre as I am trained to assist you to find the most useful way of helping you address and resolve – or at least make more manageable – your issues of concern.
